Here are some of the projects I have started related to this blog:
The “Read a Buncha Manga” Project – DEAD
Back in March 2007, I was put in charge of taking care of a heavy bag of manga until our anime club’s auction in mid-May. For same reason I thought I could read and post reviews of most of the volumes but I ended up only finishing two. A fair number of the unread ones failed to be sold that so I thought about reading the rest over the next year. The time came around for the 2008 auction and I had made no further progress so I declared the project “practically dead” with the intention to finish it off with a few things I bought cheaply at the 2008 club auction.
Reading Out Loud – ON HIATUS
This audio project involves myself reading actual articles, reviews, and editorials from anime magazines (and select online journals) with appropriate inflection to mainly promote good print writing. The pilot episode premiered on May 7, 2008 and so far there have been three episodes. There is no regular release schedule for future episodes.
Nico Baseball – ACTIVE
While writing a post about the 2nd annual Nico sim baseball tournament, I decided to make a page to keep track of the current season by updating the results of each match. Part of this project is to also create box scores for games from both seasons, a tedious process that I hope to finish before spring 2010, the likely beginning of the 3rd tournament.
Naming Patterns – ACTIVE
I made a post about the trait of non-standard chapter and episode naming in September 2009 and then decided to make a dedicated page about it in December of that same year.
50 Movies in 2010 – ACTIVE
One of my 2010 resolutions was to watch 50 anime movies/OVA’s listed in Helen McCarthy’s book 500 Essential Anime Movies that I hadn’t seen before. I’m keeping track on the project page which ones I had watched before & how close I am to my goal.
51 Anime from 2000′s – ACTIVE
At the turn of the decade, I made a list of anime I hadn’t seen before but wanted to try.
