It has been 4 years and 4 months since the last time Satou and Hitomi talked to each other. Satou finds out that she is currently gets prescriptions from three hospitals. He admits to her that he is a hikikomori and that he was shopping for anime goods in Ahikabara. They reminsice and wonder what could have been if they had actually dated back in high school. Before Hitomi leaves, she gives him her cell number.

It does get repaired but while they are waiting, they unwittingly bring to the surface past events that inflame passions in what was just a while earlier a calm environment. The pace of this second episode (”Contact”) is faster than the first and we see more of Naota’s dirt-digging mind-reading powers in action. This unutilized portion of the brain is called Night Head. Two brothers, Naoya and Naoto, were reluctantly drugged when they were young by their parents and taken away by mysterious doctors after their mental powers injured and frightened people one time too many. Naoya (the younger brother) can read people’s minds when he touches them while Naoto (the elder brother) is headstrong and hurts people telekenetically if they rub him the wrong way. NHK ni Youkoso 02-03: Satou Falls into ErogePosted on July 30th, 2006 by calaggie in Episode Summaries![]() The series is starting to show its slowness in these second and third episodes. The fantasy sequences are providing most of the action (there was a nice fisherman’s metaphor…), although next episode should be somewhat more interesting with Satou’s first visit to a maid cafe. I wish it would speed up a little bit in terms of plot. *sigh* I guess this anxiety comes with reading the manga before watching the anime, but still. Just a LITTLE faster, please? Hachimitsu II 2 & 3 – Yamada Cries and WorriesPosted on July 19th, 2006 by calaggie in Episode SummariesThe second season starts with a renewed focus on Yamada and her wavering between Mayama and Noyima. She starts to emotionally fall apart in these two episodes and I’m wondering if she can recover before she gains weight from her anxious “food binges”. Life goes on as usual for everyone else, though. Hagu is still afraid of Morita and slightly uncomfortable around Takemoto, while Mayama continuing to “not stalk” Rika. Bits such as Satou analyzing the difficulty in choking oneself and the annoying “purupururin” music from next door satisfied my hunger and I’m willing to partake of it more times in the future. The anime that started off with a home movie with poor production values ends with an episode that has some of the highest of the show. It’s two outs in the ninth inning and Kyon, with the existence of the universe as he knows it at stake, is down to his last strike. Under the pressure, he manages to pull a Michael Young and win it for the American League his dimension. (For those who didn’t watch the MLB All-Star game Tuesday night, you non-baseball fans, Young hit a 2-run triple to put the AL in the lead for good.) It was a pretty somber episode after leaving the apartment complex, most likely due to Mikuru’s complete absence. Tags: Episode Summaries, Suzumiya Haruhi no YuutsuI had read the translated chapter before watching and I was still impressed by the visual presentation. The concert part was the best part and wasn’t fully imagined in prose. The cinematics were so intense, you could see Haruhi sweating. The bunny girl outfit didn’t help either. Both the ENOZ songs performed at the concert were released this week on the Geki Chuu Kashuu single, which is certainly a well-timed release. I must have listened to “God knows…” about 15-20 times over the past few days. Read the rest of this entry » Tags: Episode Summaries, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu |
