#016 “Viscerally Commanding?” (DL: Talkshoe | local)- April 15, 2008
Back after a month-long break, I talk about the quotes on the Noein boxes, RFID badges at Anime North, how Gurren Lagann beat Code Geass in each series’ five episodes, the free flash Druaga and Blassreiter offerings, and impressions of Genji: Dawn of the Samurai. I also discover that you can’t trade-in sealed Microsoft software at Best Buy’s trade-in center. All while keeping an eye on the Sharks-Flames game, which San Jose won in the final seconds while I was editing the episode! (35 min.)

Flash (local):

Unfortunately, the USB headset I intended to record with got funky during pre-recording testing so I had to fallback on the reliable but lower-quality, cheap mic-jack Logitech headset. I could always blame the quality on my Internet connection but apparently the six people who listened in didn’t mind. The audience is slowly growing!

I tried to do a simultaneous webcam feed on Ustream but I kept hearing myself in a 3-second delay so I decided to cut it after about 10 minutes. I didn’t cover much news this episode, mainly talked about the Sevakis piece, flipped through the December issue of Newtype USA, talked to the same caller twice, and Ratatouille and the Oscars.
