Okay, I’m nervous about going to Fanime this weekend and probably will be until Sunday since this is my first big convention. I’m leaving later this afternoon and may or may not get there in time to pick up my registration tonight. After the jump, I detail most of what I plan to see and do within the Convention Center over the next few days.
Saturday
12pm-1pm: Albatross18
I’ve been playing this free online golf game on and off for the past year and I still kinda suck at it so maybe I could get some tips from this particular panel.
1pm-2pm: State of the Aniblogosphere
I have to attend this one because I’m the one who organized it! Anyway, I’m still putting the finishing touches on the presentation part but I’m sure there will be some interesting discussion between the panelists.
2pm-6pm: FaniMaid Cafe
After my panel, I’m going to check out this new featured thing and hopefully the prices will not be too high. It’s also open on Sunday.
3pm-4pm: Bandai Visual (maybe)
After what happened at SakuraCon during their panel, I want to see what happens this time with a bigger crowd. Then again, that might not be a large enough reason to attend.
4pm-5pm: FUNimation
My Tsubasa DVD shipped on Wednesday night and I got it this afternoon so I’m going to watch it tonight. Also there might be more details on School Rumble, Beck, Mushishi, and other things.
6pm-7pm: Mad about MADs
The videos that fall under the classification of MADs are usually odd & off-kilter and are noticably different than AMVs in general.
7pm-8pm: Bandai Entertainment
I am certain that Haruhi is going to be discussed but I hope that other stuff gets revealed as well.
10pm-2am: Fanime Dance
Probably not going to stay for the whole thing but I want to hear what kind of music and feel the general pace of it.
Sunday
12pm-1pm: Greg Dean Autographs
Yesterday, I got a shirt I ordered from his site so I’m going to get it signed.
1pm-2pm: Greg Dean Panel
It’s taking place in the same room as the other blogging panel and is right before it so I might as well sit in on it.
2pm-3pm: Blogs and Anime Popularity
The other blogging panel taking place at Fanime, which I think will focus on the effect blogs have in promoting anime series and building its awareness within the online community. Or maybe it’s how hype tricks people into blogging about particular series initially and doesn’t release some unfortunate ones from its grasp. Uh…I guess I’ll have to check it out for myself to find out.
7pm-11pm: Masquerade
Like the dance the previous night, I might not stay for the whole thing but I would like to see as many of the skits as I can.
Sunday
11:00am-12:00pm: FanimeCon Surprise
I don’t know what it is but it has to be good if it’s a surprise, right? Right?!?

Aside from planning to attend those events, I want to watch the AMV entries (one of which is from my anime club) along with walking around the artists’ alley and dealer’s hall and taking pictures of the convention in general. I will try to post entries about once or twice a day and I’ll be uploading photos onto my Flickr account as frequently as possible.
