I am currently typing this from an “Internet Cafe” within the convention center but earlier tonight I tried out the TV internet system within the Marriott room I’m crashing at. It had a weird interface because there was a keyboard but no mouse but besides that I worked okay given the slow loading times and the lack of an address bar.

One of the entries from my blog that I found from a Google search displayed well, although I had to push the “scroll right” key to access the sidebar.

Anime Nano also came up looking good and I was a little surprised that the drop-down preview worked. As you can see, you select a link using the keyboard arrows and you “click” on it using the Enter key. However, I was disappointed that the Fanime site loaded as a white page that you could still move around but I had no idea what I was selecting.

So in summary, the Marriott in-room TV internet is fine for light surfing but not suitable for advanced stuff. Hmm…that reminds me, I have to go back and see if it plays Flash video.
